Daily CareerTIP® Advice
Monday - Step 1 Upward
Absolutely! Be still and know He is God. Worship, pray and listen for Him. Read, study and obey His Word - such as - "Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men, but as wise, making the most of your time ... do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is." Ephesians 5:15-17

Tuesday - Step 2 Attitude
The next positive step in walking through a crossroads in your career is all about attitude - reaching forward to what lies ahead - accepting loss and opportunity. Admit you are where you are. Exercise forgiveness to put the anger behind you and put on love to overcome the fear ahead of you. Seek the breadth and the depth of career opportunities that are over the next horizon.

Wednesday - Step 3 Aptitude
Begin to collect and understand your unique qualities in five categories: Your Experiences – personal, educational and vocational. Abilities – talents, knoweldge, skills. Interests – people, places, things and activites you enjoy. Personality – natural behavior traits. Values – work and life purpose and principles.

Thursday - Step 4 Altitude
There are 6 key factors you need to know to target your job search and career change: Occupation (the work you want to do). Industry (where you want to do the work). Income (how much you want and need to earn). Location (where you want to live and work). Platform (work as employee, contractor, owner or volunteer). Culture (Operating values inportant to you).

Friday - Step 5 Searching
There are many ways to find opportunities, but over 50% of all jobs are found and filled by networking through personal referrals. Looked at another way, your odds of being selected for an opportunity are 42 times greater if you are personally referred through networking. That gives you a 4200% better chance!

Saturday - Step 6 Sorting
Think of interviewing as a two-way street. The hiring company will be evaluating you, but you should also be evaluating the hiring company and the specific work opportunity to see if it is a good fit for you.

Sunday - Step 7 Selecting
Celebrate! Nothing beats walking in work God has prepared. Be sure the career opportunity you choose fits your unique qualities and your values. Also understand that the employer has needs that must be met.
