Daily CareerTIP® Advice
Monday - What is hassling you?
Write a list as fast as you can. You don’t need sentences – just key words or phrases. Don’t think. Don’t organize. Don’t prioritize. Just write until you think you are done. Now stop, and close your eyes. If something comes to mind, add it to the list. Nothing is too big or too small. Too personal or professional. Too urgent or not. Keep your list and a pen next to you all day and all night to catch one or two more for evaluation tomorrow.

Tuesday - Evaluate your hassles
Take your list of hassles, and roll each individual hassle around in your mind. Don’t over-analyze it, and don't try to fix it. Just get a feel for it. How heavy is it? Does it weigh you down a lot, or a little? Use a 10-point scale to indicate how heavy each individual hassle is – 10 is heaviest.

Wednesday - How heavy is your hassle-load?
Add up all the points from all the hassles. What’s the total score? 25? 50? 100? 200? Now, think about how heavy a hassle-load you can handle without stress, struggle or striving. Remember, there are always hassles. The question is how much is too much.

Thursday - How easy is it to eliminate hassles?
Take your list of hassles, and evaluate what it would take to eliminate each hassle. You will find some hassles very difficult to eliminate. Other hassles, however, might not take that much work. Use a 10-point scale to indicate ease of elimination of each hassle – a score of 1 is easiest.

Friday - Look for the heaviest-load hassles...
… that appear to be the easiest to eliminate. Diagnose your list of hassles. Seek the highest-scoring problems with lowest-scoring and easiest solutions. Start working immediately on one or two with the goal of finishing today. Make as much progress as fast as you can. If you hit the wall on one, pick another. At the end of the day, check your work and see how you feel.

Saturday - Need a little help from your friends?
Like moving a piano, some hassles are so heavy that they require some additional help. Call trusted and competent friends to give you ideas, encouragement and stimulation. One of your friends might even be able to eliminate a hassle for you by him/herself. Let us share and bear one another's burdens. Remember that team works.

Sunday - Help from heaven
“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you shall find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My load is light.” From Matthew 11:28-30
