click for more Thanks - Giving an Attitude of Gratitude
Sometimes I am not thankful for what I have been given. At other times, I am full of thanks, but I am not actually giving thanks. This week – let us consider how to have an attitude of gratitude that we actually turn into action – especially as it relates to our work, job and career.

Daily CareerTIP® Advice

Monday - "How do I love my work?"
"Let me count the ways." There is no better time than now - grab a piece of paper and start the list. Carry it with you all day, every day for the rest of the week. Every time you think of something positive about your work, job or career, add to the list. Review your list at the beginning and end of every day and consider "...whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things." Philippians 4:8

Tuesday - Send Thanksgiving notes …
...to everyone for whom you are thankful – your boss and co-workers, your customers and suppliers, your friends and your family – whoever brings a smile to your face when you bring their name to your mind. It can be a simple message – like the one in a letter written by the Apostle Paul to his friends in a church in Phillipi... "I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always offering prayer with joy in my every prayer for you all..." Philippians 1:3-4

Wednesday - Give thanks for America - the Blessed
God seems to have favored our country even in the midst of our wayward ways. Evidence? How about the riches God has lavished upon us - over 50% of the world's wealth for less than 5% of the world's population. As you prepare for Thanksgiving Day, offer your thanks to God as you pray for us to be good stewards of what God has given each of us.

Thursday - President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed...
"I do, therefore, invite my fellow citizens in every part of the United States ... to set apart and observe a day of Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the heavens ... announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history, that those nations are blessed whose God is the Lord ... It has seemed to me fit and proper that God should be solemnly, reverently and gratefully acknowledged, as with one heart and one voice, by the whole American people." (Issued October 3, 1863 and passed by an Act of Congress)

Friday - "Thank God it's Friday"
How much better would it be that we thank God for all the days of the week? Even when something or someone seems somewhat bad, thank God anyway because "we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." Whatever happens this week - good, bad or ugly - in everything give thanks.

Saturday - Say “thanks” by giving back
What! Work on Saturday? For free? Saturdays are great days to volunteer for service to others. A great way to show your thanksgiving by giving yourself to others and their needs. It’s not too late. Look in your local newspaper or check the website link below. “'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.” (Matthew 25:40)

Sunday - Ultimate thanks for the ultimate giving
Jesus gave thanks for His job to die and rise again paying the penalty for our sins and bringing glory to His Father. “And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, ‘Drink from it, all of you; for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins.’” (Matthew 26:27-28) Amen and thank You God!
