Daily CareerTIP® Advice

Monday - Standing in line marking time...
…waiting for the welfare dime - that's just they way it is - oh, but don't you believe it. So sings Bruce Hornesby. He's right - don't you believe it. The Department of Labor can connect you with cash, careers and caring people.

Tuesday - One link to a million jobs
The Lost and Found Department of Labor links you to jobs in your area, around the state and across the country.

Wednesday - Finding a job is one thing...
... and getting it is another. The Department of Labor can help with free courses and resources on writing your resume, having an interview, negotiating the offer and many more.

Thursday - Staying on track...
It is hard work to get a job. And easy to slack-off for a day - then a day becomes a week which becomes a month. The Department of Labor helps by asking you to keep track of contacts and certify that you looked for a job every week - as easy as a phone call or entry on-line. Keep on keeping on!

Friday - Start a new business
On the other side of this dark cloud is blue sky and sunshine. The Labor Department cannot only help you find a job, but also start a business.

Saturday - Gainfully unemployed
Looking for a job is full-time work. But on Saturdays, be sure to look for some relief, like looking for community service opportunities. You can help others, make new friends and feel good at the end of the day. Add your volunteer work to your resume too - it will multiply the positive impact.

Sunday - Is it okay to pray for a job?
Absolutely, positively, yes! Jesus said, "If you then...know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!" (Matthew 7:11)
